Settlement Alert: $750,000 Medical Malpractice

We are happy to report that we resolved our client’s medical malpractice case today for $750,000. Our client was involved in a single vehicle motor vehicle accident and was taken to an upstate New York Hospital with severe abdominal trauma. After keeping him in the emergency room for 24 hours, he was released. Two days later he returned to the hospital with peritonitis, or an infection in the abdomen, due to a perforated bowel. This led to sepsis and required several procedures to fix. We argued that he should not have been discharged from the hospital in the first place.
