Neurosurgery Case Settled for $750,000 at Trial

Continuing our string of strong results, partner Adam E. Deutsch, settled our client’s neurosurgery case in the middle of trial for $750,000. Our client sought treatment for a fractured neck after a fall at home. Due to the negligence of the defendant neurosurgeon the fracture failed to heal properly leaving our 78-year-old client with a permanent chin to chest deformity, with an inability to lift his head off of his chest. The defendant refused to even discuss settlement before trial. After a week of trial and having been cross-examined by Mr. Deutsch, the doctor finally discussed settlement. A resolution was reached shortly thereafter.
